Wells Street

This award-winning building is a refurbished steel-framed textile factory. Over multiple sites, it houses NHS principal clinical accommodation, waiting areas, circulation spaces and a bright and welcoming reception. It uses cutting edge technology for HVAC and energy management and provides some unique challenges for our team to keep services running in a busy NHS clinic on a very limited budget.

We stripped this old fire-damaged warehouse back to its bare metal frame and converted it into a four storey doctors’ surgery. As the principal contractor, RNR London was responsible for the project, from inception to completion over a 12-month time frame. The project was delivered on time and to budget, receiving a commendation at the Hackney Design Awards.
